History
Seven kilometres south-east of the city, Alexandria's old El Nouzha field carried its commercial traffic for decades — 1.14 million passengers in 2009, with EgyptAir the largest operator — but its short runways capped aircraft at A320/737-class, and it was set to hand commercial service to Borg El Arab Airport by the end of 2010.
